Kristi Tuck, B.S. (Level 4)
Western Michigan University
Kristi is the Fitness Center Director at The MAC and East Hills and has been with the company since 1993. Her certifications include the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Instructor, the American Council on Exercise, as a Clinical Exercise Specialist and a Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant.She also has specialty certifications for Post-Rehab,Powerhouse Pilates Matwork and Exercise for Pregnancy, Cancer and Diabetes. In June 2009, Kristi completed her training as a Wellness Coach and is ready to assist you with all of your health and wellness needs.
Kim Garcia-Odykirk, B.S. (Level 4)
Central Michigan University
Kim is a graduate of CMU in the field of Health, Fitness, Rehabilitative Care & Psychology. She has worked for the company since 1991 and has certifications from NSCA as a Personal Trainer, NASM as an Integrated Flexibility Specialist, as well as specialty certifications in Medical Exercise, Special Populations, Spinning, Pilates and Massage Therapy.She specializes in Biomechanics, Postural Corrections and Therapeutic and Optimal Performance Training. In January 2009, Kim completed her training in Orthopedic Massage and Pain Management.
Carrie Heim, B.S. (Level 4)
Ferris State University
Carrie has worked at the MAC since 1998. She holds certifications through NASM as a Personal Trainer and Resist-a-Ball as a Core Conditioning specialist. Her specialty certifications include: Posture and the Post Rehab Client, Balance and Speed, Core Strength Development, Functional Integrated Training, Meal Pattern Nutrition counseling and bioCorrect Foot/Ankle Assessment. Carrie's clients include those looking to recover from overuse injuries, those with hip, knee, and joint pain, as well as those just looking to loose weight and build strength. She also enjoys training a variety of people with special needs and helping them reach their fitness goals.
Adam Jauregui, B.S., PICP, CSCS, CPT, (Level 4)
Aquinas College
Adam joined The MAC in August 2002, and in January 2004 became the Assistant Operations Director for the Fitness Department. He holds a number of certifications including two with the National Strength & Conditioning Association both as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer. Adam also holds an advanced certification as a PICP level 1 coach. The Poliquin International Certification Program takes distinction in giving strength coaches and personal trainers the highest quality of education. He is certified through USA Track and Field as a Level 1 Coach. In addition to being an All-American sprinter in Track and Field, he has trained athletes in 17 different sports from the regional to the national level. Adam has a diverse clientele, where he assists in improving their overall health, and well-being.
Gina Huizingh, B.S. (Level 4)
Calvin College
Gina has worked for The MAC since November of 2000.She is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer and holds specialty certifications from the American Fitness Professionals & Associates in Nutritional Consultation and Pregnancy and Exercise.She has worked as an Exercise Specialist in outpatient physical therapy and with a variety of weight management programs. In June 2009, Gina completed her training as a Wellness Coach and is ready to work with you and your wellness needs.
Mitch Shooks, B.A. (Level 4)
Dordt College – Sioux Center, Iowa
Mitch has worked for East Hills since June of 1999. He has held certifications through ACE & NASM as a Certified Personal Trainer and through NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He also holds the Poliquin PICP Level 1 Certification. Mitch is the only trainer in Michigan to hold the Biosignature Modulation and PIMST certifications. "I am interested in results, period, and I want them in as short a time as possible. I honor my time and my worth and that of my clients, and I strive to be the most educated trainer I can be. When you are ready for a different level of training, it's time to come see me."
Terri McElwee, B.S. (Level 4)
Grand Valley State University
Terri began working at East Hills and The MAC in July 2007. She is certified through NSCA as a Personal Trainer and AFAA as a Group Exercise Instructor. In June2009, Terri completed her training as a Wellness Coach. She works with a diverse client base, form those with special needs to athletes. She enjoys helping people improve their fitness levels, reach their fitness goals ans live healthier lifestyles.
Chris Bailey, B.S. (Level 3) Western Michigan University
Chris has worked for East Hills since January of 1995. She holds certifications through the AFAA as a Certified Personal Trainer and the IDEA as a Resistance Trainer. Chris specializes in Prenatal Fitness and Resistance Training and is committed to helping others obtain a healthy lifestyle so they can enjoy life to the fullest.
Theresa Umlauf, B.S. (Level 3)

Theresa has worked for East Hills since September 1997. She began working at The MAC in 2005 and holds certificates from the NASM as a Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA as a Pilates Instructor and a Yoga Fits Instructor. She also teaches in our Cancer Well-fit™ Exercise Program and enjoys working with individuals facing personal and physical challenges.
Pete Overvoorde, B.S. (Level 3)

Pete has been with The MAC and Est Hills since 2001. He holds Masters degrees in Kinesiology and Education, as well as being certified through NSCA as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, theAMMA as a Certified Massage Therapist, and USA Track and Field as a Level II Jumps as well as Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays Coach. He also teaches CPR and First Aid courses through the American Red Cross. Pete has coached and competed in track and field at the national level and specializes in training athletes and helping them reach their peak performance.
Joe Kik, B.A. (Level 3)
Hope College
Joe came to The MAC and East Hills in September of 2006. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hope College in Exercise Science and is currently attending GVSU to further his education in the field of Physical Therapy. Joe is certified as a Personal Trainer through NASM. He played three years of football in college and enjoys high intensity training.
Stefanie Shuker (Level 3)

Stefanie has been working in the Fitness Center of East Hills and Cascade Hills Country Club since February 2007. She holds her Personal Training certification from NASM and is currently studying Anusara yoga. Stefanie teaches Cancer Well Fit classes at The MAC and East Hills. Her passion is working with clients to achieve their own personal fitness goals.
Kris Rich, B.S. (Level 2)
Ferris State University
Kris began working the Fitness Center at East Hills in May 2005 and The MAC in 2006. She is certified by NASM as a Personal Trainer. Kris teaches Cancer Well-fit™ and Diabetes Wellness exercise classes in collaboration with Saint Mary's Health Care. Kris enjoys helping clients of all levels in helping them to achieve their fitness goals.
Bill Lindhout, BFA (Level 2)
Grand Valley State University
Bill is certified through the NASM as a Personal Trainer as well as Madd Dog Spinning as a Cycling Instructor. He teaches Cycling, Group Strength Conditioning and Cancer Well-fit™ classes at The MAC and East Hills. Bill also has been very involved in endurance mountain bike racing since 1987 and is a four time state champion in the Michigan point and time trial series.
Angie Horjus (Level 2)

Angie has been with East Hills/The MAC since January 1994. She holds 2 certifications through AFAA as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer with NASM. Angie holds certifications through Madd Dog Spinning, YogaFit, BodyPump and BodyStep. Angie is an excellent motivator and her excitement for fitness is contagious, so if it's education, hard work and motivation you are looking for...come be inspired.
David Schlaufman B.S. (Level 1)
Central Michigan University
David joined The MAC and East Hills in December 2008. He graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health Fitness in Preventative and Rehabilitative Programs and Minors in Exercise Science and Nutrition. David is active in most sports, from golf to surfing, and played Tennis and Baseball at the collegiate level. After graduating, David gained his certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Specialist. Along with his experience in the Cancer Well-fit™ Program, his training specialties include weight loss and athletic/strength training as well as general fitness using a wide variety of training techniques that fit any individual’s needs.
